Vintage Wood Advertising Hanger, Greene's Napa Cleaners California, for a Military Uniform
SALE . . . 20% OFF! An early printed advertising clothes hanger from Napa, California with hand written military identification on the back!
This vintage wood clothes hanger is from the wine country of Napa, California and was used by a United States Army service man. The soldier hand wrote his identifying information on the back of the hanger. A fun and interesting thing to note about this is that his rank increased during his possesion of this hanger, as the CPL for Corporal is crossed out, replaced by S/Sgt for Staff Sergeant. Greene's Napa Cleaners has been in business for over 90 years and is still operational today. The phone number indicates the age of this hanger, with only two numbers! We estimate this hanger is from the 1920s-30s. The two pieces of wood are joined by a wavy industrial strength staple, one on each side. The metal rod hook is in perfect condition. The hanger measures 16 inches wide. It is in very good condition with just a few minor wear scuffs. The service member wrote in his name and rank, APO number, and the line of text 'Base Headquarters - Enl. Personnel'. The advertising text on the front is printed in green ink via letterpress and it reads:
Greene's Napa Cleaners
on the left side:
Telephone 17
on the right side:
603 Brown Street
Napa, Calif.
This is a wonderful piece of vintage military memorabilia in addition to a laundry, clothing, or Napa, California collectible.
