Pop Laval 1917 Original Antique Photo, Guggenhime and Company San Joaquin Valley Fruit Packing House
SALE . . . 50% OFF! Early black and white photo of a busy agricultural farming packing shed in California's central valley!
This is another rare Claude C. 'Pop' Laval original antique black and white photo of a Guggenhime and Company packing house. This historical photo shows mostly women who are packing dried peaches or nectarines. They are wonderful in their long cotton dresses and heeled boot shoes. A few men handle the heavier tasks as a foreman (or maybe the owner?) looks on in his straw hat and bow tie (straw boss?). What a wonderful photo and slice of Americana!
This 8" x 10" photo is not signed, but was found with a group of Laval photos and we are quite certain that it is his. It is identified on the right side (in reverse) as number 3033 and is dated 9-12-17. Our other Laval listing of Fresno architecture #ARTph 0103 is dated 1918. The stye of dress and especially the shoes indicates this period.
This wonderful historical antique farming photo is in very good condition. Our own photography of this item shows a glare spot from the lighting in the lower right, but this is not on the original photo. The photo has no tears, creases or marks.
What a fantastic American agricultural, famring, California, and Women's history antique photo!
And, it's now ON SALE at a huge 50% OFF! #ARTph 0113
