1960s Vintage Sad Tigers Ceramic Salt and Pepper Shakers, Japan
SALE . . . 25% OFF! Endearing and sweet big eyed yellow-gold tiger porcelain shakers . . . so cute and so unique!
This pair of vintage 1960s ceramic Japan salt and pepper shakers just tug at your heart as they gaze at you with those serious, contemplative eyes. Each tiger holds their left paw to rest under their chin in a meditative stance. They have wonderful figural character to their sculpted bodies and facial expressions. The body glazes are sprayed on in graduating colors of pale yellow to gold to orange. Black stripes run along their back and on their face and paws. The eyes, nose and ear lobes appear hand painted. The porcelain is very fine with a matte finish that has a nice soft feel to it. They measure 3.25 inches tall by 2.75 inches wide, and both are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. One has a few light smudges. They are stamped with the style number H60 on the bottom and retain their original plastic stoppers. Both have label residue from an oval Japan sticker.
This is a very fun pair of vintage 1960s figural tiger Japan salt and pepper shakers that will make you smile!
