1940s-1950s Vintage National Potteries NAPCO Anthropomorphic Vegetable Heads Salt and Pepper Musicians, Tomato Girl Playing Harp and Melon Girl with Songbook
Delightful hard to find early NAPCO porcelain vegetable choir girl singers salt and pepper shaker set in excellent condition!
These are some darling vintage anthropomorphic girl musician vegetable shakers by the National Potteries Company NAPCO, known for their charming, quality ceramics which were highly popular in the 1940s-1960s. They are a nice, tall size measuring 4.25 inches. The tomato girl is Salt and she plays a small harp; the green melon girl is Pepper and sings from a songbook. They are highly detailed with hand painted facial features, and their bright yellow dresses with striped skirts are fun! There are gilt highlights on both shakers and the glazes are intact and rich in color. They are in near mint, fabulous condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Both retain their original wood corks and are stamped NAPCO in black ink. Melon girl has a couple of tiny areas of paint loss on her green stripes, but very minor.
This is an excellent and very fine set of vintage anthropomorphic National Potteries salt and pepper shakers!
