1950s-1960s Vintage Boxer Dog with Two Pups Large Ceramic Figurine, Japan
Hard to find mid century bone china boxer figurine, with two adorable puppies cuddling up to their sweet mama dog! Fantastic!
This is a fabulous 1960s hand painted Japan porcelain ceramic dog figurine, and it is very scarce. You sometimes find a dog with one pup, but to find two is quite rare. These little guys are so cute, feeling quite safe with their beautiful and strong mother who is in a sitting stance, gazing out in protection. The quality of ceramic is very fine, the hand painted features superb. The mother boxer is handsome and striking, with her soft tan and black coat, defined muscles, cropped ears, and steady gaze. The two pups have light features and adorable dark muzzles. Their hand painted eyes look right at you! This is a large size vintage dog figurine, measuring 6 inches wide by 6 inches tall. It is in excellent vintage condition, especially for its age and the fragile nature of bone china porcelain. There is a minor tiny flea bite on one ear and a flake of paint missing. It retains its original blue oval paper label which reads Japan. This label helps to date this piece to the 1950s-1960s.
We love this beautiful vintage boxer dog with two pups bone china porcelain ceramic figurine, and so will any boxer owner! A thoughtful gift for a loved one, dog breeder, or, yourself! #FIGa 0136
