1960s Vintage Japanese Wood Kokeshi Doll In Original Box, Hand Crafted Japanese Wood Kokeshi Kimono Doll IOB

Wonderfully unique and elegant vintage Japanese wood kokeshi doll in perfect condition and with the original storage box!

This is a very sweet, nicely crafted mid century Japanese wood doll. It features a lovely linear floral design hand carved into the wood. The flowers are painted a nice dark pink color and are likely symbolic cherry blossom flowers, so dear to the Japanese culture. The body is an unusual shape, tall and thin, tapering to only 1/4 inch at the top neck. The head is about 1.5 inches wide. The hand painted face has delicate features and the classic top hair bun is tied with a bow accent. It sits on a thin wood base. The artist signature appears on the back of the doll in white paint. It is completed with a glossy finish. She measures 8.25 inches tall and is in excellent condition with no scratches or chips.

As a bonus, the original storage box is included and it is also in excellent condition with no tears or stains. The box measures 9.25 inches by 2 inches. It is signed on top in kanji (two signatures), and also has the artist's red chop mark. Awesome!
