1970s Vintage Stoneware Wine Goblets Chalices, His and Hers Toasting Glasses, Brown Speckled Art Pottery Bride and Groom Wedding
Excellent set of two earthy wheel thrown art pottery wine goblets in His and Hers sizes, perfect for celebratory toasting! Circa 1970s to early 1980s.
This is a handsome and striking pair of vintage ceramic wine glass goblets. They are glazed a beautiful mocha brown color with small dark speckles. The center band and undersides are left unglazed, showing the rough stoneware for a nice contrast. These are meant as toasting goblets, with the larger size being for the man, and the shorter for the woman. We believe these to be vintage Japanese ceramics, as it is historic tradition to produce drinking vessels in two sizes such as this. (You often see this with vintage Japanese tea cup sets or serving bowls, too.)
Both are in excellent, pristine condition with no chips, cracks, or staining. They stand 7 and 6.5 inches tall, with a 2.25 inch base. The thin stems fit the hand nicely, great for toasting.
These vintage stoneware His and Hers wine goblets are perfect for a rustic or boho wedding, or any special celebration!
