Circa late 1940s Germany. This is a one of the classic antique German figural ornaments which is featured in many of the Christmas Collectibles reference books and always shows a high book value. The bright silvered mercury glass is very thin, indicative of early Lauscha glass ornaments. A nicely molded 3D waffle cone cornucopia holds a doll, teddy bear, gift package, and other toys. It measures 4.5 inches tall to the top of the cap, and 2 inches at its widest point. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks to the ornament or pike. There is some usual oxidation on the pike. We love this antique embossed mercury glass Christmas ornament.
