SALE . . . 25% OFF! Wonderful set of four hand painted Japanese sake cups, featuring the symbolic longevity crane! Circa 1950s.
The bright gilt crane is flying over the water with a pine tree on the side. A blue wash indicates the water, with green washes making the tree branches. The rims are also gold. Each cup is hand painted and one-of-a-kind. They measure 2.25 inches wide at the mouth, and stand 1.25 inches tall. The footed base has a 3/4 inch diameter. All cups have the stamped red Japan mark. All cups are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The design is crisp and clear. (There are a few light reflections in the photos.) One cup shows fading from use, the gilt rim worn with one tiny fleabite. It can be seen on the far right in our detail photos.
This is an excellent set of small vintage Japanese porcelain sake cups to use or display. Cool vintage barware, makes a thoughtful gift!
