SALE . . . 30% OFF! Very rare mid century ceramic mortar and pestle by Domingo Punter, Teruel Spain art pottery, circa 1970s.
This is classic Punter in his striking abstract brutalist design of green and black over the cream colored field. It is so unique and one-of-a-kind. Linear patterns wrap around the form with 3D protrusions adding to the design. The clay in this part of Spain is a dark red and is quite dense and heavy.
The mortar measures 4.25 inches wide at the mouth and stands 2.75 inches tall. The base measures 2.25 inches in diameter. The pestle is 5.25 inches in length. The bottom is signed and numbered, D.P. Teruel, R. 68. There is also some printed Spanish text in the background in small print.
It is in excellent, mint condition free of chips or wear, a fabulous addition to any art pottery or mortar pestle collection!
